By air

The Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is France’s second-largest international airport. It is located 15 minutes from the Acropolis (7 km from the city centre). More than 50 airlines provide regular service to destinations throughout the world and operate a large number of daily flights to and from 30 other French cities. An 80-minute flight links Nice to Paris, a connection that is offered 23 times a day.

From the airport to Acropolis:  

Take Bus n° 98 to the station ”cathédrale vieille-ville”; then take the tramway towards “Hôpital Pasteur”;
Stop at “Acropolis”.

 

By car 

Nice interconnects with major European cities via an extensive motorway network. The A8 “La Provençale” to Aix-en-Provence links the city on the west and the Italian border on the east. It takes approximately 9 hours to drive from Paris to Nice by motorway.  

The motorway provides direct access to the neighbourhood of your choice, with 5 exits:  

exit 50: Promenade des Anglais 

exit 51: Saint-Augustin 

exit 52: Saint-Isidore 

exit 54: Nice-Nord 

exit 55: Nice-Est

 

From the A8 motorway “Provencal”: 

Exit n° 50 towards “Nice Centre“ and the “Promenade des Anglais“; then follow the sign “Acropolis“.

By train

The Nice train station is located in the heart of the city. It has seven sets of tracks with covered platforms.

La SNCF (French National Railway Company) provides 11 regular connections from abroad and 20 daily connections with the largest cities in France. The T.G.V. (high-speed train) links Paris to Nice in 6 1/2 hours with direct daily connections.

A “car-train” service is available between major French cities: vehicles are conveyed at the same time as their owners, who travel in “couchettes”.

Local transportation

Bus

Bus service is also an excellent way to get around Nice. The network is extensive and serves the entire city.

From the airport to the city centre

Bus route 98: Airport/Gare Riquier (Railway Station) via Promenade des Anglais (drop off service to a selection of hotels).

Operates from both terminals 1 & 2, every day, every 20 minutes between 5.52 and 23.37.

Inbound departure from the Railway station « Gare Riquier » operates every day, every 20 minutes, between 5.20 and 21.00.

Bus route 99: Airport/Gare SNCF (Railway Station)/Airport (express service) Departure every 30 min from both terminals 1 & 2.

Inbound: departure from the Railway station (Gare SNCF) operates every 30 minutes, from 8.00 to 21.00.

 

Tram

For comfort and efficiency, Nice has chosen the tram. Ligne 1 covers 8.7 km and 21 stops and connects the North and the East via the city centre through Avenue Jean Médecin, Place Masséna, Place Garibaldi and Nice Acropolis « Hôpital Pasteur ».

The tram runs Monday to Sunday, 21 hours per day.Frequency: One tram every 5 minutes during peak, and every 8 minutes off peak.

All tickets are a fixed price of €1

The ticket price includes parking at the Parc Relais stations at each terminus of Ligne 1

Ticket dispensing machines are located at all tram stations and accept cash and credit cards
