Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all attendees of the 21st IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI 2024). This year’s conference, held in Athens, Greece from May 27 to May 30, 2024, was a remarkable success, thanks to your active participation and enthusiasm.

ISBI 2024 featured an outstanding program with keynote talks from world-renowned scientists and clinicians, Dr. Francis Bach, Dr. Katherine Ferrara, Dr. Anant Madabhushi, and Dr. Joseph Sifakis, who shared their insights on a variety of hot topics. New elements were introduced this year, including the Clinical Focus Sessions, the Pharma-Meets-Imaging event, workshops, academic software demo sessions, and the Art-in-Biomedical-Imaging line of events, which showcased the creativity and innovation in our field. ISBI 2024 emphasized on recognizing excellence by offering 50 student travel grants, 6 student paper awards (3 for best oral and 3 for best poster presentations), 4 pitch competition awards, 3 best artworks awards and recognition to our outstanding reviewers.

The comprehensive technical program included world-class oral and poster sessions, special sessions, tutorials, challenges, exhibitions, demonstrations, and industry sessions. These sessions facilitated the exchange of cutting-edge research and fostered collaborations among participants from academia, healthcare, research institutions, and industry. We also connected this year’s submissions with special issues in five journals.

The social events provided ample opportunities for networking and relaxation. Attendees immersed themselves in the rich history and vibrant culture of Athens, exploring sites such as the Zappeion Mansion, the National Archaeological Museum and the Panathenaic Stadium. The social events also featured guided walks in the lively neighborhoods and diverse cultural sites of the city. From the welcome reception to the engaging cultural tours, we hope you enjoyed the dynamic and vibrant atmosphere of Athens.

Thank you once again for making ISBI 2024 an inspiring and successful event for our community. We look forward to continuing our journey of innovation and collaboration next year at ISBI 2025 in Houston, Texas.
