CHALLENGE PROPOSALS
We invite proposals for Challenges at ISBI 2027. Our aim is to accelerate innovation in biomedical imaging by promoting the development, evaluation, and benchmarking of cutting-edge AI and computational imaging methods for both medical imaging and biological microscopy. We strive to foster research with comparable and reproducible results, encourage the sharing of high-quality datasets, define robust evaluation metrics, and highlight state-of-the-art methods. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to foster collaboration and ensure the broad dissemination of scientific insights within the ISBI community and the wider biomedical imaging field.

SPECIAL SESSION PROPOSALS
We invite proposals for Special Sessions at ISBI 2027, aimed at highlighting emerging topics, innovative research directions, and cross-disciplinary efforts within the biomedical imaging community. Special Sessions offer a unique platform to bring together experts on focused areas of interest that may not be fully covered in the regular program. We particularly encourage proposals that foster collaboration across disciplines, promote diversity, and address timely challenges in biomedical imaging, including clinical translation, AI applications, and open science. All accepted sessions will be part of the main conference program and are expected to meet the same standards of scientific quality and peer review as regular sessions.

TUTORIAL PROPOSALS
We invite proposals for tutorial sessions at ISBI 2027 that offer in-depth, high-quality educational content on timely and relevant topics in biomedical imaging. Tutorials may cover theoretical foundations, practical applications, or emerging trends, and should aim to engage a broad audience, including students, researchers, and industry professionals. We particularly welcome interdisciplinary topics and those that promote open science, reproducibility, and clinical translation. Both introductory and advanced-level tutorials are encouraged.
Tutorial proposals must be submitted via Google Form where the proposers can upload a single PDF file of length no more than four (4) pages (excluding bios) in 12-point font including the following information
- Full title and – if available – its acronym.
- Organizer name(s), affiliation(s), address(es), and email(s).
- Expected number of attendees.
- Short abstract with the main idea (up to 200 words).
- Keywords listing the main topics covered.
- Extended abstract discussing the motivation, impact, and main directions covered (up to 1000 words, including a few references if necessary). Information on the relevance and importance, aspects of novelty, interdisciplinarity and synergies.
- Structure of the tutorial outlining the topics and subtopics covered.
- Measures to ensure diversity and addressing any ethical issues (e.g. in case of shared data).
- Short bios of the organizer(s), including expertise on the proposed topic (e.g. relevant publications or projects), experience with organizing similar efforts in the past, and a personal website link – if available (up to 500 words).
- Each organizer(s) CV.

WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
We invite the submission of Workshop Proposals for ISBI 2027, which will be held in conjunction with the main conference. Workshops offer a forum for researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals to explore emerging topics, present novel findings, and discuss open challenges in biomedical imaging in a more interactive and focused setting. We welcome proposals that introduce new research areas, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, or provide hands-on learning opportunities. Workshops may include invited talks, contributed presentations, panel discussions, or demonstrations, and should aim to engage participants from diverse backgrounds and career stages.

DEMO PROPOSALS
We invite proposals for in-person academic software demos at ISBI 2027. Submissions should feature free, open, and non-commercial software, whether or not linked to an accepted ISBI 2027 paper, but still relevant to the ISBI community. These demo sessions aim to showcase tools, code, and live software with face-to-face interaction. Note: Academic demos are separate from commercial booths.
Focus areas: Open science, reproducible research, clinical applications, and soft skills. Demos should be suitable for various experience levels, from students to professionals, and emphasize tools over results.
Format: All demos will be held in person during the main conference. Each presenter will be provided a table, power, shared Wi-Fi, and a monitor. Please list any additional equipment needs. Presenters must bring their own laptops.
Fee: A $140 demo package fee (table, poster board, screen, power) applies and must be paid by the presenter in addition to their conference registration.
