In view of the COVID-19 situation, the organizing committee of the 17th IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI), to be held in Iowa City, Iowa, USA during April 3-7, 2020, has decided to move ISBI 2020 to a fully virtual conference. We have opted for a format where each contributed paper, abstract, or plenary will take the form of a pre-recorded video, which we will make available to conference attendees. We will further offer the possibility to discuss the papers and presentations asynchronously starting on the originally scheduled conference dates.

We request you to prepare and upload a video of your presentation. This will be considered as a replacement of your attendance at the conference. Please note that the file must be a video file in one of the following formats: mp4, mpeg, mpg, mov, avi (more details below). Please do not try to upload powerpoint or PDF files.

While we are unable to provide individualized technical support to help you create these videos, one possible approach to record a compatible video from content displayed on your computer screen and voice recorded via the computer microphone, is to record the presentation using Zoom, available to users on most platforms and in most countries:

Our planned workflow will allow making all uploaded video presentations available to conference attendees for viewing and discussion on the originally scheduled conference dates. Therefore, there is considerable urgency in preparing and uploading your video.

Accordingly, we ask you that you please upload your video by:

*** March 30, 2020 *** .

Please use the following guidelines for preparing your video.

UPDATE: For technical reasons, we are unable to accept video files whose size is larger than 200 MB. Files larger than 200 MB need to be compressed.

Keynotes: duration 40 minutes
4-Page paper: duration 15 minutes, 100 MB limit
1-Page paper: duration 7 minutes, 50 MB limit
Workshop Invited: duration 30 minutes, 200 MB limit
Workshop contributed oral: duration 15 minutes, 100 MB limit
Workshop contributed poster: duration 12 minutes, 80 MB limit

Video file format: mp4, mpeg, mpg, mov, avi
Dimensions: Minimum height 480 pixels, aspect ratio: 16:9

Please note the above specifications will be checked at the time of submission and files not meeting them will be prevented from being uploaded.

Except for the above duration and digital constraints, the form of the presentation is left free (though please be sure the video includes the title of the paper, the authors, and a mention to ISBI'2020). Note that papers assigned to a "poster" session could either use a traditional slide format or provide a commented "walk" through the different areas of a poster.

We hope to make ISBI'2020 a success despite the difficult situation and this unusual conference format. We thank you for your cooperation in this endeavor.
