ISBI is a premier peer-reviewed conference on biomedical imaging covering the full spectrum of imaging modalities. In 2021, ISBI which was planned to take place from April 13 to 16 on the French Riviera, in Nice, France will finally be held virtually.

A flagship conference on biological and medical imaging

ISBI is IEEE’s flagship conference on medical and biological imaging, with a large scope that covers image acquisition, formation, and processing. Each year, it attracts about 700 researchers from academia, clinics and hospitals, as well as industrial R&D departments, giving an excellent publicity opportunity for its sponsors. Top leaders from around the world are regular attendees, as illustrated by the composition of the organizing committee. These leaders are regularly consulted by their home institutions (e.g. a university hospital or medical center) for purchasing of new equipment.

Special session/challenges 

ISBI is also the leading conference where novel and emerging bio-imaging modalities at all scales are introduced to image analysis and quantification. Hot-topics sessions and challenges were organized in recent editions of ISBI as special sessions and challenges on the following topics: Deep Learning for Biomedical Image Reconstruction, Computational Optical Imaging, Interaction of Geometry and Topology in Biomedical Imaging , Deep Image Analysis and Understanding: from Applications to Products, photoacoustic and optoacoustic tomography, compressed-sensing MRI, low-radiation and phase X-ray imaging, computer aided histopathology, ultrafast ultrasound, and non-invasive bioelectric imaging.

Clinical Day

ISBI 2021 will emphasize clinical translation of biomedical imaging into healthcare applications through a special day-long session called “Clinical Day” to attract an increasing number of clinicians to ISBI and foster multi-disciplinary interactions between clinicians and imaging scientists and industry. This day will feature renowned clinical speakers on the hot topic: “AI-based approaches to biomedical image analysis in cancer”. During this day, we are also offering the opportunity to a limited number of companies to participate in a round table discussion bringing together researchers, industrial representatives and clinicians, and to present their activity during a 2-minute pitch. In addition, the Clinical Day will offer training credits to participants. Our pre-confirmed clinical day speakers include:

Student/Young researcher activities 

The conference provides a terrific opportunity to get young researchers interested in your company and discuss future career opportunities. Please let us know if you would like to discuss specific opportunities with us, including demos, career fairs and networking, social or other special events. You can benefit of a dedicated virtual meeting room integrated on the ISBI platform which can be suited for up to 200 attendees. We can channel your donation to student travel grants and other student activities as sponsorship awards. ISBI awards several best student papers. Sponsorship of awards will be recognized during the conference, and we will invite the sponsor to present the award.

COVID-19 situation

Due to the sanitary situation, ISBI’21 has moved to a fully virtual event. Nevertheless, the 2021 ISBI Conference Committee is expecting to create an exciting virtual experience that will be rewarding for both presenters and attendees.
